The history of this national heritage property dates from
long before the French occupation period, and it is
estimated that the vaulted cellars of this magnificent
farmhouse already existed prior to the year 1200.
The comfortable, stylishly decorated guest apartment,
"het Cortenhuisje", is intended for two persons and self-
catering. Tea, coffee and fruit is on the house.
It has a surface area of 60 m² and consists of a large sitting
room, bedroom, bathroom with shower, separate toilet
and a completely furnished kitchen. The sitting room
comes with a TV, audio equipment, books and games,
and overlooks woods and orchards where deer can be
spotted regularly. On summer days, guests have a lovely
private terrace at their disposal.
The artists’ village of Geverik is surrounded by farmland
and borders the Kelmonderbos, a nature reserve. These
rare wooded hills are situated on the Keutelbeek, a
stream that meanders through marshy meadows and
swampy forests.The surroundings are known for their
scenic walking trails that lead through the Mergelland
area, along winding paths and typical half-timbered
farmhouses.
The most beautiful spots just across the border in
Belgium can easily be reached by bicycle. The medieval
city of Maastricht is only 15 minutes by car, and Aachen,
Liège and Hasselt are a half hour’s drive from Geverik and our "appartment Geverik".
