A vacation between pastures, cows and sheep’s. The beautiful view, the quietness and the nature, give you a real holiday feeling!
A ten minutes drive from the ‘afsluitdijk’ and situated at the historic barrage ‘de Slachte’. There are plenty activities, because ‘recreatieboerderij Slachtehiem’ is situated between three ‘elfsteden’; Franeker, Harlingen en Bolsward.
Lodge accommodation
There are four luxurious hotel rooms at the first floor of our leisure farm. The rooms have windows at seat height, so that you can enjoy the Frisian view. Each room contains a private bathroom, which includes a shower and toilet. There is a comfortable bed for two persons, also there is a sleeping couch which can be used by one or two persons.
One of the rooms has a comfortable bath, shower toilet and comfortable beds. This room is used as brides room but people who are disabled can also use this room. There is an electric system at the sealing, so you can move yourself from the bed to the toilet and bath. There is when needed, a customized bed and alarm system. The hostess has more than twenty years of experience in nursing, so she can also take care whenever you need.
With the private stairs you reach the cozy living room where you can relax or cook your own meal. The living room has a large sitting area with television. You can use wireless internet with your own laptop. The kitchen contains a lot of supplies, like a dishing machine, microwave oven, coffee and senseo machine.
At the second floor are two bedrooms for each five persons. The rooms have three single beds and one double beds. The shared bathroom have a shower and toilet. Children can play at the passage, with the present puzzles and toys.
Activities
Around the farmstead, which is assessable with wheelchairs, are many activities. Farmers golf, ‘fierljeppen’, fishing, volleyball, tennis and canoeing, these are just a few of the activities! There are activities for every age. Of course you can take a look at the cows and sheep’s, and maybe there are fresh born lambs.
Farmers campground
The farmers campground contains wide camping sites with luxurious facilities. Each site has a private water tap and electricity connection. The sanitary facilities is nearby. There are four showers , toilets and one dishing spot with warm water. There are no extra charges for the sanitary facilities.
Leisure room
There is a large leisure room which can be used for different purposes; family days, teambuilding, business meetings, wedding parties and son on! This room is separate from the lodge accommodation.
You can play historic Dutch games, but also the pool table and darts are available.
There are plenty opportunities to fulfill the primary human needs. From breakfast to cold-warm buffets and barbeque. We count one prize for drinks, for this prize you can get what you want from the refrigerator and beer tap.
